Electrical (Rough) – Final Inspection Checklist for Home Builder
This checklist ensures that rough electrical work is completed to code and meets project specifications. It emphasizes proper installation of wiring, receptacles, and breaker boxes, along with thorough labeling and cleanup. By completing this inspection, the team ensures the electrical system is ready for final stages and passes all necessary inspections.
Set the temporary power pole and ensure temporary power is on
Complete wiring for light switches and receptacles according to the plan
Set all receptacle boxes square, plumb, and 3/8 inch past the stud
Install bracing for ceiling fans as required
Complete wiring for thermostats
Complete wiring for smoke detectors, washer, dryer, and floodlights
Complete wiring for HVAC units
Complete wiring for outside receptacles
Install outside disconnects
Install the breaker box
Label all breakers clearly and legibly
Place emergency stickers on the breaker box
Pass the inspection
Clean the site and house, ensuring they are free of debris
