Clearing and Grading (Grading 2) – Final Inspection Checklist for Home Builder
This checklist ensures that all grading and backfilling tasks are completed to specification before the Trade Contractor leaves the site. It includes verifying the integrity of mechanicals, proper drainage, and the grading of the lot. By completing this inspection, the lot is left clean, level, and prepared for further development.
Backfill the slab and confirm all rough mechanicals are intact and undamaged
Ensure all foundation drains are clear of dirt and extend 6 inches above the top of the footings
Grade the front and backyard
Establish swales and berms
Verify that water flow direction is correct
Remove all excess dirt from the lot
Clear the lot of building debris
