Drives and Walkways – Final Inspection Checklist for Home Builder
This checklist ensures that the construction of drives and walkways meets all quality standards and project specifications before the trade contractor leaves the jobsite. It emphasizes proper water runoff, surface finishing, and site cleanliness to prepare the area for use and future construction phases.
Ensure the drive connection to the garage prevents water entry into the garage
Verify that drives, walkways, and patio/porch areas allow proper water runoff
Ensure no aggregate is exposed
Check for cracks or displacements and ensure none are present
Install expansion joints properly
Verify that dimensions are correct
Ensure the surface has a proper broom finish
Remove any concrete runoff from the site
Clean the jobsite and remove all debris
Install the drive barricade board
Complete a field count and note it on the purchase order
