This checklist ensures the roofing installation is completed to quality and safety standards before the trade contractor leaves the jobsite. It emphasizes proper installation of shingles, vents, and drip edges, along with thorough cleanup and verification of materials used.
Ensure the roof is complete
Verify shingles are straight and true
Ensure shingles are secure with no loose shingles
Install ridge vents or turtle-back vents per the plan
Ensure ridges are covered
Confirm the drip edge is correct
Ensure all valleys are completed and covered with shingles
Seal all nail holes
Install all roof vents per the plan
Verify no shingle nails or staples protrude through the decking in the attic
Stack all excess material in one area, count it, and list it on the purchase order
Clean the jobsite, removing all trash, debris, and shingle scraps
Verify the amount of squares installed
